Giving up the cigs...Day 1
So it has come upon me to ditch the cigs and get fit and healthy. OH MY. This could be one of those hard decisions which doesn’t turn out well in the end, or a moment to prove everybody wrong. Starting tonight, I will not smoke a single cigarette for as long as possible. The final one was inhaled and left me coughing thinking it was probably the right decision to stop. My recent chest pains...

Stanford Prison Experiment
In 1971 an experiment was held by a psychologist in America to find out how humans would behave in a ‘guards’ and ‘prisoners’ role. The guards were given full freedom to do as they wished, as long as violence wasn’t used. Things escalated at an extremely fast rate and the experiment was terminated within six days… seven days early. This is due to the violence...

Touching. If only everyone could think like this...
Gabriel Garcia Marquez has retired from public life due to worsening lymphatic cancer. Recently, he sent this farewell letter. If for a moment God were to forget that I am a rag doll and granted me a piece of life, I probably wouldn’t say everything that I think; rather, I would think about everything that I say. I would value things, not for their worth but for what they mean. I would...

So, I stumble upon an article explaining the 10 biggest misconceptions and all seems about right until BAM. It tells me that the Coriolis effect doesn’t even effect toilets and sinks and the direction in which water drains. How can this be true?  A trip to Kenya led to my family and I going on a trip to the equator where they went on to show us evidence of the Coriolis effect. By walking a...

A curious thought.
Whilst at work today, Tamta and I were serving customers, you know, the usual when she turned to me and said “why is it that every couple that comes in here, the woman is the one paying?” She seemed outraged. In Georgia, apparently, the men pay for everything, for all the girls without even a second thought. ‘Crazy’ I thought. But why this sudden change in the way couples...

Waking up this morning thinking my normal alarm of Justin Timberlake ‘sexyback’ hadn’t gone off, left me in a bit of a panicked mood. Luckily this passed really quickly when I realised I had at least two hours before wake-up time, so I went back to sleep, heard the alarm, turned it to snooze and gained myself an extra half an hour in bed. Well deserved if you ask me, which is...

Oh what a lovely evening.
Well a very late trip to Wales led to an extremely entertaining evening and a moderately typsy (to say the least!) Sarah :) Bless her. About five hours, fifteen games and a bottle of vodka later and Sarah was fantastically entertaining. WIth her funny faces to random comments. Pure class. Spent the evening playing the classic games of ‘I have never’ and many others, like the one where...

Barbara Streisand. OOOHHOOoohhooOohh.
Those songs you just can’t get out of your head. They’re fantastic and you can jig along all day to them to your hearts content, but after the twenty-fifth and a half time of singing it, your friends are then joining in. By the next day they’re still singing it and the cycle continues. It’s hilarious, but ever so repetitive :) My usuals are.. Barbara Streisand...

Oh hello tumblr, or should I say stranger.
Oooh the crisp winter air is starting to fill up the streets and make everyone wrap up in scalves, hats and those adorable little mittens which are warm, but don’t help too much if you’re trying to open a twix wrapper. In all fairness it may be the transition from Summer to Winter by technicalities, but by the actual weather you would think that this years summer was practically Autumn...
